Claude Duet's background work appeals, but shared usage limits worry users
The user likes Duet working asynchronously in the background and asking only when a decision is needed, but complains background tasks share the same usage limit as regular chat and wants separate allowances.
i like the idea behind Claude Duet. i dont want to spend all day telling an ai what to do next. explain the context again, remind it where we left off, then check what it gives me. that takes time too. let it work through the research and put a draft together while im doing something else. ask me when it needs a decision. when i come back, i want something i can pick up and work with. especially when im juggling a few things at once, that would leave me with less to keep track of. using my existing memory and skills would also save me from explaining how i work every time. but sharing my Claude usage limit is a problem for me. i already run out as it is, and even the background checks count toward that same limit. handing work off to it, then having to wait for my limit to reset before i can do my own stuff would be pretty annoying. really wish Claude gave regular chat and background work separate allowances. id be a lot more comfortable leaving Duet running if i knew it wasnt eating into the usage i need for everything else.
