Cutting redundant agent calls with Opus 5.5 and Jev
The author outlines three ways to reduce Jev calls: rebuilding the option menu each step, fanning out decisions in parallel, and scoring out context, taking Browser Use from 1,092 calls to 101.

in 1865 a guy named jevons noticed something weird steam engines got MORE efficient, and britain started burning MORE coal, not less the exact same thing is happening to your ai agents right now every time models got cheaper, agents didn't get cheaper. they got HUNGRIER the fix is not a cheaper token. it's not making the call at all i wrote a paper on 3 ways to kill calls with opus 5.5 + jev: → rebuild the menu every step. browser use went from 1,092 calls to 101 with the SAME models → fan out, don't queue. 3 decisions, 1 round trip → score the context out. a claude session went from 1M tokens to 86K in one second opus 5.5 thinks. jev decides. code executes the cheapest token is the call you never make:
