Claude Code Desktop adds multi-session agent management
The desktop app now supports sessions from local projects, SSH hosts, and cloud environments with separate Git worktrees, nested sub-sessions that run tasks in parallel, and a sidebar showing run status, progress, and file changes.
Anthropic just shipped an interesting update to Claude Code Desktop. It's becoming a control center for running multiple coding agents at once. Here's what changed: 1. Sessions: Start from local projects, SSH hosts, or cloud environments. Use separate Git worktrees to keep code changes isolated. 2. Parallel tasks: Claude can create nested sub-sessions, run tasks independently, and report results back to the main session. 3. Monitoring: The sidebar shows which sessions are running, waiting for input, or finished. You can also see task lists, progress summaries, context usage, and file changes. The third one is what I find most useful. When I have several Claude Code sessions running, I spend too much time switching between windows to check progress or approve actions. Having those states visible in one place makes parallel work easier to manage. Claude Code Desktop is getting closer to a proper multi-agent workspace.
