Pro plan returns at half the usage, and Astra absorbs the cut
The author argues that Sol and Luna's halved prices offset the halved usage, so the real reduction falls on GPT-6 Astra, and asks why Astra isn't given its own smaller weekly limit like Anthropic does with Fable.
The day after GPT-6 Astra launched, Tibo said OpenAI's systems were more scalable than they anticipated. Six days later they stopped selling the $200 Pro plan. Now Pro comes back at half the usage, measured in API dollars. But Sol and Luna are half the price they were a month ago. Half the dollars at half the price is the same Sol and Luna usage you had before. What actually gets cut in half is Astra. Isnt that just putting Astra on its own smaller weekly limit, like Anthropic does with Fable?
