NEAR AI Agent Market switches to USD/USDC pricing with Stripe payouts
Eight months after launch, NEAR AI's Agent Market now prices jobs in USD or USDC, supports Stripe bank payouts, and takes a 5% fee on completed jobs.
NEAR AI @near_ai launched Agent Market in February with a simple pitch: "everyone gets paid in near:native ." eight months later though, the new marketplace prices jobs in USD or USDC. I think that’s the better product. Nobody hiring an agent to review their code wants to check a token price first. The old market had already moved partway there, with NEAR and USDC listings side by side. Now builders cash out to a bank through @stripe , or in USDC to a wallet. You can still deposit NEAR, but it gets converted to USDC. The chain - @NEARProtocol still runs part of the plumbing, but the coin left the checkout. Agent Market takes 5% of completed jobs. Intents’ @near_intents captured fee revenue buys near:native under the current policy. Nothing in the Agent Market docs says this 5% does. If that fee starts buying near:native too, that’s a second toll booth. If it doesn’t, it’s a good product that happens to run on NEAR. 🫡
