🚨 Walmart just opened its store to AI agents, at the same time Amazon is blocking them. Its new Agent Gateway is an MCP server. It lets approved AI agents search Walmart and Sam's Club inventory and buy things for you. Meta's Muse is already a partner, and ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI apps can connect too. What stands out: Agent Profiles: each agent gets its own profile in your Walmart account, so its orders show up separately from yours. These roll out in November. Spending controls: you can approve every purchase, or let the agent buy on its own up to a limit you set. Walmart compares it to adding an authorized user to a credit card. Privacy: agents can't see your payment info, and they only get the data they need for the task. No membership needed: anyone with a Walmart account can use it. You don't need Walmart+. Amazon has started blocking agents from buying on its site. Walmart is making the opposite bet, and it's writing the rules for how agents shop.
