Honestly I think DeepSeek V4.1 has more hype AND genuinely looks like the better choice over Gemini 4 Argon for most developers and vibecoders rn. Cheap API costs, faster responses, shorter outputs, and the flexibility to self host or run cost sensitive agent pipelines. Open access + cost efficiency is where it’s at for high volume work. Gemini 4 Argon is still a heavier model sure, but it’s kinder only a compelling choice if you’re deep in Google’s ecosystem, the infrastructure, tooling, support and all that DeepSeek for the cost conscious builders definitely a first choice then Gemini for the enterprise bros, am just saying
