Free users can't see what GPT-6 Astra can do
A post argues free ChatGPT users get poor results and assume better models won't be much better, so giving them a small taste of GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Astra would boost subscriptions.
Honestly I think this is a problem that needs to be fixed Free ChatGPT users don't know how far AI has come, they try what they have, get a bad result like in this example and decide not to pay because they assume the better model won't be that good either There's no way for free users to see what the best models can do because they're behind a paywall that's hard to convince them to cross. I'm sure giving them even a tiny bit of access to GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Astra would massively increase subscriptions, which wouldn't exactly help with how little compute there is available, but still
