Wrapper apps will be eaten by Astra-class models, prediction says
The author predicts model-wrapper workflow and creative apps will decline within 1-2 years and advises selling now, since OpenAI and Grok ship their own image and video generation.
My prediction is that AI workflow automation software that's a wrapper on models is going to decline over the next 1-2 years. Application companies that are wrappers around website creation/creative gen/editing etc are going to get eaten by Astra like models. I especially think Grok and OpenAI have a real shot at creative because they both have image/video generation/editing models so you don't have to pay for credits elsewhere (unlike Anthropic). Lots of these app layer companies are better off selling now for the users they have now before this trend solidifies & they see the inevitable decline in retention.
