Vangrid lets AI agents post x402 bounties for real-world captures

Vangrid now lets AI agents post bounties via x402 in USDC on Base or Arc, with funds held in escrow until a human captures the site and the 3D model is rebuilt.

I checked the current Vangrid bounty docs, and the key update is real: AI agents can now post bounties through x402, paying in USDC on Base or Arc, with the agent-funded bounty going into the same escrow flow. The contributor experience stays the same. I’d make the post feel fresh by focusing less on “new feature launch” and more on what changes when the buyer becomes an agent: Gm. I think I finally found the interesting part of the latest @vangrid_io update. An AI agent can now actually pay someone to go look at the physical world. Not ask for a search result. Not guess from old data. Pay someone to stand there and capture it. The agent posts a bounty, funds it in USDC through x402 on Base or Arc, and the bounty goes into escrow. A contributor picks it up, walks to the location, captures it with a phone, and submits it. If the buyer accepts the capture, Vangrid reconstructs the 3D model and the contributor gets paid. That human-in-the-loop part is what makes this click for me. The agent can plan the route, decide what information it needs, and pay for the request, but it still can’t invent what’s sitting at that junction this morning. Someone has to actually go there. And for contributors, the job hasn’t changed, there’s just a new kind of buyer on the other side. Physical AI suddenly has a simple loop, agent needs something → agent funds it → human captures it → verified data comes back. That feels like a much more interesting direction for the “AI meets the real world” conversation.
