Anthropic dropped Opus 5.5 last night and my timeline is celebrating. I'm happy for them. I'm also still not fully over what happened to Fable. The OG Fable that launched, broke benchmarks, got pulled by government order, came back a few weeks later and came back a little different. The guardrails were tighter. The biology question that got flagged. It wasn't quite the same thing. Anyway. Opus 5.5. Fable 5.1 level performance. 40% cheaper than Opus 5. 30% faster. Better at agentic coding, computer use, and knowledge work. Actually puts the important information first now instead of burying it. Genuinely good release. Meanwhile I've been building with Jev for 4 days. 31K tokens. $0.0012 total spend. My $5 credit is very much still alive. Different tools. Different jobs. Claude for thinking. Jev for the routing layer where you just need a fast typed decision and not a paragraph. Back to building.
