Hands-on: Gemini 4 Argon is good at tools and reviews, not complex system code
A developer advises against using Gemini 4 Argon to write complex systems directly, praising it for building tools and reviewing Opus's tech choices, suggesting a 300k auto-compaction cap and noting it clashes with GPT.

My Gemini 4 Argon experience so far. Don't use it to write code for complex systems directly. It's great at building tools. It's also excellent at finding the entry point into a problem and reviewing whether Opus picked the right tech. Try to cap auto compaction at 300k. That's where i run mine. And it does not pair well with GPT. Argon thinks most of what GPT does is pointless, and GPT thinks Argon doesn't think things through. So two senior devs who each think the other one is the problem lol.
