Speculation: the 28-day shipping streak is meant to bury Codex reset requests
The author suspects OpenAI is using a daily improvement (Astra speedups, free auto-review) to drown out questions about Codex resets, so that after 28 days users only care about what ships next.
🚨 I'm starting to think I've figured out the REAL reason behind Tibo's 28-day “Improvement or reset” challenge. OpenAI doesn't want to give us Codex resets anymore. They want us to stop asking for them. So what do they do? Give themselves 28 days to bury the reset conversation. Day 1 → Astra and 6.1 Sol got ~50% faster. Day 2 → Auto-review became FREE. What if the next 26 improvements are already sitting on the shelf? →Ship one every day → give us something new to celebrate → keep the excitement rolling → And make us forget what we were asking for. And after Day 28? Maybe instead of: “Where are our resets?” We’re asking: “Holy shit, what are they shipping next?” I could be completely wrong. But if this is actually the strategy… That’s REALLY smart.
