Critic says OpenAI is cutting Pro 200 limits and locking UltraFast behind Pro 500

A critical post argues Pro 200 usage was cut from 20x to 10x, GPT-6.1 Sol UltraFast is limited to Pro 500, and users wanting faster access must pay another $300/month.

🚨 I think OpenAI is digging its own grave. It's not Anthropic that's hurting OpenAI. It's OpenAI itself. There was a time when OpenAI was seen as the best AI company because it listened to users, took their complaints seriously, and fixed the problems. Now it feels like monetization has become the priority over users. OpenAI isn't focusing on what users actually want: → A capable model that can compete with Opus 5.5 → Cheaper Astra access → Predictable usage limits → More affordable usage → UltraFast access without paying $500/month Instead, it feels like the focus is on pushing more users toward Pro 500. Look at what's happening: → Pro 200's usage allowance cut from 20x to 10x for affected subscribers → GPT-6.1 Sol UltraFast restricted to Pro 500 and eligible Enterprise and Edu users in Codex and ChatGPT Work → Paying users still frustrated with usage limits → Want UltraFast on a personal Pro plan? That's another $300/month to jump from Pro 200 to Pro 500. And here's the part OpenAI should be worried about. While OpenAI keeps frustrating users with pricing and usage restrictions, Anthropic is giving developers more reasons to stay through better usage options, credits, and capable models. OpenAI, remember: You're not in a position to command users to pay more. You're in a position to plead with users not to leave.
