A user speculates that Claude Code usage has dropped recently due to an internal issue possibly tied to the fable 5.5 release and Claude Duet.

  1. I think it’s definitely just a internal issue maybe from the imminent release of fable 5.5 and because of Claude duet and this could be something that just slipped through, but the usage of Claude code has definitely been decreasing especially in the last couple days! They will make it right. Will keep posted on result that I see in the upcoming days!

  2. Could it be in a shift of compute from Claude Duet or a Fable 5.5 release? Here is the copy and paste for both of my accounts @bcherny : Account 1: My limit is up lol. Would definitely be open to see a DM from you always loved Claude Code Account 2: ❯ claude -p /usage | pbcopy ● PowerShell($OUT = claude -p /usage; $OUT | Set-Clipboard; $OUT) You are currently using your subscription to power your Claude Code usage Current session: 1% used · resets Oct 22, 4:09am (America/New_York) Current week (all models): 95% used · resets Oct 24, 3:59am (America/New_York) Current week (Fable): 0% used · resets Oct 24, 4am (America/New_York) What's contributing to your limits usage? Approximate · sessions on this machine only · shares overlap Last 24h · 24 requests · 2 sessions 71% See what fills your context · run /context Last 7d · 17629 requests · 11 sessions 96% Give "general-purpose" subagents a cheaper model 94% Start fresh when you switch tasks · run /clear 87% Stop sessions you no longer need · some ran 8 hours or more Top skills: /impeccable 3% Top subagents: general-purpose 56%, fork 4%, Explore 1% Top MCP servers: plugin:superpowers-chrome:chrome 1% (timeout 2m) Your usage report is copied to your clipboard. pbcopy only exists on macOS, so I used PowerShell's Set-Clipboard, which does the same job on Windows. You've used 95% of this week's limit for all models. It resets Oct 24, 3:59am ET, so you have about 5% left for the next ~2 days. ┌───────────────────┬──────┬───────────────────┐ │ Limit │ Used │ Resets │ ├───────────────────┼──────┼───────────────────┤ │ Current session │ 1% │ Oct 22, 4:09am ET │ ├───────────────────┼──────┼───────────────────┤ │ Week (all models) │ 95% │ Oct 24, 3:59am ET │ ├───────────────────┼──────┼───────────────────┤ │ Week (Fable) │ 0% │ Oct 24, 4am ET │ └───────────────────┴──────┴───────────────────┘ These are the report's tips on what used the most over the last 7 days (17,629 requests across 11 sessions). The percentages overlap: - 96%: "general-purpose" subagents ran on the main model. They made up 56% of subagent usage, and a cheaper model would cost less. - 94%: sessions kept going across different tasks; it suggests starting fresh with /clear when you switch. - 87%: some sessions ran 8 hours or more; it suggests stopping ones you no longer need. You haven't used any of your Fable allowance this week. If you switch to Fable 5.1 (/model), you can keep working until the reset without touching the remaining 5%. On a Mac, your original command claude -p /usage | pbcopy works as written.
