Claude Duet vs Muse, Cue and Dots: personal agent comparison
The author tried Meta Muse, Manus Cue, OpenAI Dots and Claude Duet, found them not very different, and explains why Chinese firms embed agents in existing apps.
Claude launched #Duet yesterday too. From Meta @Muse and Manus Cue to OpenAI dot, everyone seems to be rolling out a personal agent. I’ve tried them, and so far they don’t feel all that different. In China, Tencent, Alibaba and ByteDance are working on agents too, but mostly inside their existing apps rather than as stand alone personal agents. I think there are a few reasons. First, human services are cheap. Ordering food, dealing with customer support, replying to emails—having an agent handle these might be worth paying for in the US, but the math is different in China. Second, the platforms don’t really talk to each other. Walled gardens exist everywhere, but years of competition in China’s mobile internet have left each company guarding its own ecosystem. Getting one agent to do things across several platforms isn’t easy. Third, AI is still expensive. Is the time saved worth another monthly subscription for China market?
