Fantasy author DJ Butler rebuilds his personal website
The author recounts moving from Blogger to WordPress, shutting his site down after it was infected with malware, and having a friend build him a simple new site.

I've been a website pilgrim. I was on blogger-dot-com for the first year or so. Then moved it all to wordpress site with a flexible but kind of homely template, hosted by hostgator. I wanted a website that did lots of things, like list my convention schedule, and my awards, and have a blog, and a bunch of links. It did all the things. And it was kind of homely. Then I did some work with a company that said, "Hey, as part of your compensation, we'll build you a cool new website!" They built the cool new website. Or rather, their devs in southeast Asia did. And those same devs larded the site up with malware. So I shut my website down, oh, about a year ago. A friend did me a favor and basically set up a new site for me this weekend. It's simple: I don't want a blog or a widget showing my most recent X post or anything else complicated. But I like it. Here it is: https://www.davidjohnbutler.com/
