Anthropic introduced Claude Duet on October 21, a proactive AI agent designed to help professionals manage work across connected applications. Powered by Claude Opus 5.5, Duet can provide daily briefs, monitor tasks, schedule meetings and complete more complex work such as building dashboards and preparing forecasts. It can continue working when a user steps away and is designed to check before taking actions on the user's behalf. The product reflects a broader shift from AI systems that primarily respond to prompts towards agents that can monitor work and complete multi-step tasks with defined safeguards. Claude Duet is currently available as a research preview by waitlist, beginning with US Pro and Max subscribers.
