Developer jokes that Astra will finally make him "good enough"
A satirical post about a developer pinning his self-worth on a new model, predicting that in six weeks he'll decide Astra was what held him back.
When Fable 5.1 came out, I thought that would be the model that would finally make me good enough. I was wrong. Because now GPT-6 Astra exists. And I know what you're thinking: "Danny, surely this is just another model." No. This is THE model. Once I get access to Astra, I won't just be Danny Thompson. No no... I'll be Danny Thompson with Astra and then I'll finally be enough. I'll finally stop opening benchmark charts at 1:00 AM. I'll stop convincing myself that the only thing standing between me and greatness is 3% better tool calling. I'll stop reorganizing my entire workflow every time somebody posts a new model card. Because I'll have Astra. And I will be complete. Of course, six weeks from now somebody will release another model. And I will immediately realize that Astra was actually the thing holding me back.
