jev-trader: cost breakdown of a Monad trading bot quoting every 300ms
The open-source jev-trader bot uses Jev to return buy/sell/hold probabilities in 81ms, and its author shows gas is the real cost: $12 a month for AI versus $7,900 for on-chain gas.
$12 a month for the ai, $7,900 a month for the gas that's a bot quoting on every 300ms monad block, 24/7 at jev-trader's own measured 0.0357 mon per block most people cloned the model call an never priced the transaction under it / jev returns a calibrated but or sell in 81ms, buy 0.77 sell 0.23 hold 0, and "hold" only ever appears when the model missed the block entirely / the hot loop makes exactly two rpc round trips, one eth_call for the book and one eth_sendRawTransaction, with nothing else on the path. read p500 18ms whore loop p50 100ms / monad charges the gas limit rather that the gas used, so a quote costs the same whether it lands, reverts or gets cancelled on block later / input is $0.042 per million tokens and output tokens are free, so a battery of six questions every block costs what one question costs / with no private key it boots straight into a dry run on the real book with real decisions and simulated fills, so you can watch it trade nothing https://github.com/jarrodwatts/jev-trader the model was the cheapest part of the entire system and it is the only part anybode copied
