Scoring Clay Google Maps leads with Jev to filter local businesses
Pulling plumbing-company leads from Clay's free Google Maps source, skipping obvious name matches, and using Jev to score fit before finding contacts and emails.

Contacts who get emailed less than average reply 3.2x more. @clay has a free source full of them. That 3.2x comes from my agencies internal data and @smartlead_ai says it could be even more like 4x more. The source is Google Maps, and it's free in Clay. When everyone pulls leads from the same easy databases, the harder-to-reach contacts pay off fast. Here's how I'm using it: Put in keywords. I searched for plumbing companies, and it's free no matter how many locations I add. Score fit with Jev. Skip scoring anything with "plumbing" in the name, since you already know those fit. Find contacts. Surfe did a great job here. For anything Surfe misses, I built a custom Claygent to find more contacts. Right now I'm building a dataset to get the highest find rate possible on local business contacts. I'm having Opus 5.5 find 1,000 companies where we can find the owner on the website but they don't have a linkedin profile. I'm going to put that into the training data for a claygent to work off of Haiku or Luna 6 to cheaply find custom contacts. When it's done, I'll give away the Claygent along with any MCPs it needs. our Exa friends will probably be very useful here. You can use the Google Maps source in Clay right now for free, with unlimited searches. I use a browser agent to keep running the searches, and I asked engineering to expand how many you can run at once. Want the Claygent to find the contacts and emails once it's done hill climbing? Let me know.
