A side-by-side test finds Kling 4.0 Flash costs a third less and nearly matches full 4.0 on simple shots, while 4.0 holds complex prompts better at 90 credits/~2 min versus 60 credits/~75 s.

✨Kling 4.0 vs. Kling 4.0 Flash✨ Kling 4.0 Flash costs a third less than the full 4.0 model, and with the same Omni-Ref elements it nearly matches it on simple shots. In my test, the bigger difference was how literally each one copies your reference images. Same setup on both: • Two saved elements (the thief and the masked Warden), plus a world plate and a prop image • Two 10-second multi-shot prompts with timed shots, 720p, audio on What held up on both: • The characters stayed on-model across all six shots • Cuts landed within a tenth of a second of the timings in the prompt (0–3s, 3–6s, 6–10s) • The theft and the chase look close enough that Flash is the smarter pick for testing ideas Where full 4.0 pulls ahead: • Complex shots keep more of the prompt. The bell stays inside the belfry and the shockwave actually reads • It costs 90 credits per 10 seconds and renders in about 2 minutes, compared with 60 credits and about 75 seconds on Flash Reference tips that work on both: • Crop face references tight, with no studio background left, because a cutout portrait on grey can end up in your shot as a grey wall • Tell the model what each image is for, like “use image 1 only for style and color palette, don’t copy its composition” • Leave props you don’t want out of your world references, since the model treats everything in them as fair game
