Open-source Codex-style coding agent runs on ChatGPT quota
A developer open-sourced Chat On Steroids, a coding agent built on ChatGPT that can read and edit files, run commands and tests, split tasks across multiple agents, and uses ChatGPT quota instead of Codex quota.
THIS DEVELOPER FOUND A WAY TO GET WAY MORE OUT OF GPT-6 ASTRA WITHOUT PAYING FOR EXTRA API TOKENS. he built his own Codex style coding agent using ChatGPT as the engine. then he open-sourced it on GitHub. it’s called Chat On Steroids. and it can: → read and edit files in your projects → run commands and tests → split tasks across multiple agents → send new instructions while agents are working → resume work in a new chat while preserving context the interesting part is how it handles usage. instead of consuming your Codex quota, it uses the ChatGPT quota included with a compatible subscription. so you don’t need to separately pay for API tokens.
