Using the @dfinity Internet Computer MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector, ChatGPT identified the official MULTI/DEX application and discovered its frontend, backend API and bridge canisters. It then researched wider ICP network and DeFi statistics, calculated percentages and explained what the figures actually meant. 📊 HERE’S WHAT THE RESEARCH REVEALED! ♾️ 42 subnets 🌍 33 countries 🖥️ 618 active subnet nodes 🏢 101 data centres 👥 76 node providers ⚙️ Approximately 1.17 MILLION canister smart contracts 🔐 Approximately 3.30 MILLION Internet Identities 🚀 Approximately 5,540 transactions per second in the reported snapshot 💰 AND THE DEFI FIGURES! 💵 $8.88 MILLION total value locked 📈 $4.49 MILLION weekly DEX volume 🔥 +29.38% weekly trading growth 💱 $504,202 reported daily DEX volume These figures relate to the wider ICP DeFi ecosystem, not MULTI/DEX alone. NOW HERE’S THE PART THAT REALLY EXCITES ME! THIS IS ONLY MY SECOND TIME USING THE INTEGRATION! I didn’t write a single line of code. I didn’t manually navigate multiple blockchain dashboards. I simply asked ChatGPT questions in ordinary English. And it used MCP to discover application infrastructure, while combining that with publicly available research and calculations. THINK ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS! 🤖 ChatGPT provides the conversational interface. 🔗 MCP connects AI to supported application tools. ♾️ Internet Computer provides decentralised smart-contract infrastructure. 🔐 Authorised actions can be governed by application permissions. ⚙️ The reverse-gas model allows developers to fund computation rather than requiring users to pay gas for every interaction. Today, I’m exploring read-only access. But imagine what happens as more Internet Computer applications expose useful functionality through MCP! AI agents could potentially manage authorised workflows, interact with decentralised services and retrieve verifiable on-chain information through natural language. NO COMPLICATED BLOCKCHAIN INTERFACES! NO NEED FOR USERS TO UNDERSTAND CANISTER ARCHITECTURE! JUST ASK CHATGPT! This is why I’ve been so convinced about the long-term potential of $ICP. The blockchain infrastructure is already operating. Now we’re seeing new ways for ordinary people to interact with it.
