Jev handles yes/no decisions 76x cheaper than a full model
A single yes/no decision costs $0.0304 through a full model but $0.000042 through Jev, and the author suggests setting a confidence threshold to fall back to Claude.
Jev + Claude... i can't understand how I missed this, it's the cheapest fix I've made all year a single yes-or-no decision through a full model costs $0.0304. the same decision through Jev costs $0.000042. that's not a rounding error, that's 76 times cheaper for the exact same answer what Jev handles: > picks which of a fixed set of options actually applies > scores something against a scale you define yourself > answers yes or no as a number between 0 and 1, not a paragraph Claude does the hard reasoning. Jev decides anything that only ever had two or three valid answers to begin with that's Jev engineering in one line: the expensive model thinks, the cheap one decides a confidence number from Jev tells you it's sure, not that it's right. set a threshold, and anything under it falls back to Claude ten thousand of these decisions cost 42 cents through Jev instead of roughly $300 through a full model that's the number you put in front of whoever's paying the bill full Jev guide
