Why personal assistants like Muse and Instinct spread faster than OpenClaw
The author argues Muse, Instinct, Grok Bot and Dot lower the setup barrier and reach the first wow moment quickly, but the trust and safety gap remains the biggest obstacle to adoption.
So here is the thing that Instinct has done and so has Muse that people grossly underestimate the value of. When it comes to masses using Agents at scale, it can only happen when the time to the first wow moment is not very long and you don’t need to be uber technical to set up an agent. I had thought that OpenClaw would be the second ChatGPT moment but I turned out to be wrong and it was because of the complexity. But these new personal agents like Muse, Instinct, Grokbot, Dot, etc are going to be far easier to on-ramp users on. I used Instinct and it performed magic for me in so many areas. It doesn’t mean others can’t to more. But doing it without a huge cognitive load for the masses is the difference maker. The tech community bubble doesn’t apply the moment you go to the non-tech sectors. Now what could slow it down is if the trust deficit doesn’t close, and people feel insecure or unsafe to give these agents tools access, the rest of the equation starts to weaken. So speeding up safety and security is the most credible way to speed up the adoption of agents because of the legitimate apprehension people have to give an agent unfettered access into your accounts.
