Small business owner runs Amazon Vendor Central through a Grok Bot
The author built a Grok Bot for his father's wholesale business to manage Amazon Vendor Central, choosing it for easy phone access.
There's so many people on here that advise how we can set up our businesses to connect to AI, and how we can "automate" the entire business workflow. Most of these aren't practical for everyday business owners and many are tech industries. So I'm going to start posting about what I've actually done - big or small - when it comes to having AI running parts of a small business. Today - Connecting Amazon vendor central My dad's business is managed via Odoo ERP. Odoo has an connector that allows us to directly connect the database to seller central. Odoo remains the source of truth for inventory/pricing/descriptions etc. The problem: The business we're managing is a wholesale business, so we needed a connection to the vendor central side of Amazon. I've now set up a workflow that directly manages that. This is something that's been in the pipeline for many months that I never got around to. Now with this connector, the workflow is created, meaning any changes in Odoo will directly flow into Amazon Vendor Central. From the AI side, I've separately created a bot in Hermes Agent by @NousResearch manage everything related to Amazon. There's no use cases just yet, but the specialist bot is now there as the work accumulates. I've similarly created a @bot to do the same on Grok bot side. The reason I have both is that this isn't my primary job. I'm just helping my dad. So 90% of the time I don't have a laptop/PC handy, so the convenience of the mobile app is crucial. My tokens and API details are in bitwarden secrets manager so I don't have to manage private information in two platforms.
