French creator envies X Money and Grok Bot template rewards pilot
A French creator lists US-only features like X Money and the Grok Bot Template Rewards Pilot, noting that X is building an economy around the account itself.
As a French creator on X, I have to admit… sometimes I feel like I’m watching the future from the other side of the Atlantic. Look at what’s happening in the US right now. X Money is probably the feature I’m most jealous of. 😆 Not because I need another payment app, but because of what it could turn X into. It’s becoming much more than a way to receive your creator payout. People can send money to each other directly on X. There’s direct deposit, an X Card, cashback, interest on eligible balances, bill payments and more. And people seem genuinely excited about experimenting with what can be built on top of it. One example I’ve been watching is UsePaid. It isn’t an X product, but it uses X Money in a fascinating way: token creator fees can be directed to an X account and paid to that person in dollars through X Money. You don’t even need a UsePaid account or crypto wallet to be named as the recipient. Then X just launched the Grok Bot Template Rewards Pilot, where invited US creators can potentially earn money when other people actually use and continue using the Grok Bot templates they create. Again, paid directly into X Money. Creator payouts in the US now go through X Money too. Put all of this together and something interesting is happening. X is slowly building an economy around the account itself. Your X account can be where you create, build an audience, monetize your content, sell subscriptions, build useful AI tools, receive creator rewards and now increasingly receive and move money. And as someone outside the US, I’m watching all of this thinking: When do we get to play too? 😂 It also makes me think about Elon Musk’s recurring idea of abundance through technology. We’re obviously not at “abundance for everyone.” But some people are already making amounts from their online activity on X that can genuinely change their lives. We are entering an era where one person with a phone, an internet connection and an idea can create something, reach a global audience, monetize it and receive money, all within the same ecosystem. Things that once required separate payment processors or distribution channels are slowly being brought closer together. That’s the part that excites me. X Money could become the financial layer underneath an entire creator economy. Maybe the future of social media isn’t just getting paid for attention. Maybe it’s turning your online identity into an entire economic ecosystem. And from France, I’m basically standing at the window watching the Americans play with the new toys. 😂 X, don’t forget about us. We want to play too. 😆
