Meta pushes AI agents to mainstream users
The author's colleague switched from tinkering with Hermes and GrokBot to using Muse, and the author sees Meta's strategy of free high-allowance access to drive adoption and monetize the ecosystem as smart.
Meta mainstreamed AI agents like no company could. My friend who was always super adamant about setting up Hermes or GrokBot walked into the office today and showed me his Muse agent. He was like “Dude this thing is insane. I even pimped him up with a Rolex.” Meta is taking a very smart strategy. They are not charging for intelligence and tokens like the other providers do. They’re making their agents free to use, with a very high allowance on the free plan, and instead are taking the walled garden approach. Get adoption, and then figure out how to monetize adjacently.
