So after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei wrote a 3,800 word essay on September 12 saying AI companies “must slow the pace” at which they improve AI models. Just a few days later, Anthropic is now considering launching a new model to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra. I don’t think this is about the model. It may be about not letting others get ahead of you.
