Developer questions why OpenAI launched Dots half-baked
The author argues Dots is clearly still experimental yet OpenAI announced it prominently at DevDay, and suggests it should have been an optional testing program instead.
I still really don't understand why OpenAI launched dots. This post from Tibo clearly shows that they are still experimenting and learning how all this is set up and how it will go. WHICH IS FINE. The thing that isn't fine is how they pushed Dots. Tibo and OpenAI clearly know that it is not fully done, users see how rushed and can feel it in their day to day use. So if we all know this, then why does OpenAI largely and galdly announce Dots at DevDay. If you know your product isn't even ready and everything is half rushed, then why launch it to the public (poor Europeans, I know some of yall don't have access to it). If you think that you need more time or want to experiment, then add it as an optional testing programme or something like that.
