Personal assistant race: operators and execs are the real users
The author reviews personal assistants like openclaw, hermes, grokbot, muse and dot, arguing consumer demand won't last and that operators and executives are the ones willing to pay.
Personal AI assistants are hitting peak competition. Started with openclaw, then hermes, grokbot, muse, dot. I think that a lot of the angling of these launches are at consumers. But there won't be a consumer use case for personal AI assistants that lasts. People like browsing Amazon, they like picking flights. Efficiency isn't what the average person wants. Maybe for a mom of 3 there are some gains. The majority who do want it and would get the most value are operators and execs. In my opinion, that's who Dot, Muse, and Grokbot are for. If you build AI systems for clients, the personal assistant should be a layer of what you deliver moving forward. They should be directly integrated into your offer. Setup and training.
