OpenAI Dots criticized as a rushed release
Users say Dots feels like a plugin bolted onto ChatGPT, with many bugs and a messy structure, and suspect it shipped early under pressure from Grok Bot and Meta Muse.
OpenAI Dots feels rushed. There's real promise here, but it's hard to shake the feeling that Grok Bot and now Meta Muse put them under pressure to ship something before it was ready. There are plenty of bugs, and the agent feels bolted onto the @ChatGPT app. This was a chance to bring Chat, Work and Codex together into something coherent. Instead, Dots adds another layer to an already confusing app. I'm still optimistic that OpenAI can turn it into a great product. But that means fixing the underlying mess, not just putting an agent on top and expecting it to make sense of everything.
