Argon in the Gemini app is worth $20/month for brainstorming, developer says
A developer says a few Argon thinking, research and planning sessions a week justify the $20/month Gemini subscription, paired with a local Qwen model and Claude Opus 5.5.
Google’s Argon model is very good for ideating inside the Gemini app. Just using Argon for a few thinking, researching, and planning sessions a week easily justifies a $20/month subscription. Having fantastic local models like Qwen3.8 Next Flash (I use sushi on my 64G Mac mini) reduces commercial provider use so much for me that $20/month subscriptions a month for Claude Opus 5.5 and using Gemini app for non-coding AI is better in the sense that I never have to worry about running out of quotas: so much headroom on the subs. A strong local model is my first go-to tool, and the commercial offerings are fall-back for more difficult work.
