GPT-6 Astra vs Claude Fable 5.1: $3.26 vs $7.63 per task

GPT 6 Astra costs $3.26 per task. Claude Fable 5.1 costs $7.63. Astra is the better model and it is less than half the price. This is not even close anymore. Astra finishes tasks in half the time, does not get lazy mid conversation, and costs less to run. Fable 5.1 is slow, expensive, and every Claude model has gotten lazier with every release. I used to defend Anthropic on quality. But when the cheaper model is also the faster and smarter one, what exactly am I paying for?
