A decision-learning log for Grok Bot that records why you overrode it

The author proposes having Grok Bot log the reason each time you approve, reject or modify its suggestion in a database like Notion, then retrieve similar past decisions before advising next time.

Your Grok Bot could be throwing away some of the most valuable information you give it. The decisions you make, and WHY you make them. Here's a way to turn those decisions into something Grok Bot can use again. Imagine this: A customer requests a refund outside your normal policy. Grok Bot recommends declining it. But you approve the refund because that customer has spent $15,000 with your business. The valuable information isn't simply that you approved the refund. It's WHY you made an exception. Now imagine Grok Bot could reference that reasoning the next time a similar situation arises. You can build a simple decision-learning system around this. Here's the prompt I'd give Grok Bot: "I want you to build a decision-learning system for the business decisions you help me make. Whenever you recommend an action and I approve, reject or modify it, capture: 1 - The situation and relevant facts. 2 - Your original recommendation. 3 - My final decision. 4 - What I changed. 5 - Why I made that decision. If my reasoning is unclear, ask me one short question. Store these decisions in a structured log that you can reference in the future. When a similar situation arises, retrieve relevant past decisions and explain how they apply before making your recommendation. Keep business policies separate from individual exceptions. Never assume one exception becomes a permanent rule. Start by helping me set up the decision log and choosing one business workflow to test." A few things I'd recommend during setup: 1 - Connect Grok Bot to a persistent database, such as Notion, where it can store and retrieve decisions. 2 - Start with one workflow, such as customer support, supplier negotiations or sales. 3 - Make sure Grok Bot captures your reasoning, not just whether you approved or rejected something. 4 - Review the decision log periodically to correct bad assumptions and remove outdated information. 5 - Keep human approval in place for consequential decisions. This isn't retraining Grok Bot's underlying AI model. You're building a system that gives it access to your previous decisions and the reasoning behind them. Over time, that could become incredibly valuable. Because the goal isn't just to make Grok Bot remember what you decided. It's to help Grok Bot understand WHY you made that decision, so its future recommendations become more useful.
