Robinhood builds AI agents natively into its brokerage app
A Robinhood VP recounts launching an MCP in May so users could connect Claude Code and Codex to their accounts for analysis and trading, then building the agent natively into the app weeks ago.
Robinhood VP @abhishekf96 reveals what happened when users started connecting Claude Code and Codex directly to their brokerage accounts: "In March or so, it actually wasn’t particularly clear what that product was gonna look like. Back in May, we launched an MCP that allowed customers to connect outside agents into Robinhood. They would connect their Claude Code, or they would connect their Codex, and perform actions." "A lot of customers were just using it for analysis. Some customers started to use it to trade and do more fancy stuff." "We used some of the early patterns we observed there to build a product we launched a couple weeks ago, putting the agent more natively inside of the Robinhood app." "Millions of people probably aren’t gonna go through the effort of connecting some other agent that lives on their computer in a completely different interface to their Robinhood account.
