Aged Claude account banned despite fixed IP, user says
The author says a one-year-old Claude account on a fixed IP with no region hopping was still suspended, and explains it via ASN reputation, mailbox trust scores and CLI reconnect storms.
"My 1-year-old aged Claude account just got suspended even though I used a fixed IP and never hopped locations." 🧵👇 Here is the technical reality of why legacy "anti-ban" tricks no longer protect high-value accounts: 1/ Running inside a VM doesn't mask your underlying ASN. If your upstream provider pools you with abusive scrapers, your CIDR block reputation is already degraded. 2/ Initial credential trust score: Wholesale/recycled mailboxes start with negative trust scores. The ban is deferred until high-frequency usage or billing actions trigger re-verification. 3/ Micro-disconnect reconnect storms: CLI agents (like Claude Code) maintain persistent sockets. Without proper TCP KeepAlive, packet drops trigger aggressive TLS handshakes, which Cloudflare WAF flags as automated brute-force sessions. Rules to keep aged accounts alive: - Clean, virgin residential/business ASN - Real verification credentials - 15s TCP KeepAlive to eliminate reconnection spikes Protect your engineering assets.
