Kovrell: AI voice calls verify vendors before payments go out
Hackathon project Kovrell places an automated voice call to verify a vendor before payment is released, then produces an audit evidence pack with recording, transcript and sealed hash.
I submitted kovrell for the @lablabai x @AssemblyAI voice agent hackathon Introducing Kovrell. Payments get approved every day based on invoices, emails, vendor records, and account details that can all be spoofed. And even when companies have verification controls, people skip them. So I built Kovrell. Kovrell is a voice verification agent that calls the vendor before you pay. Instead of trusting the payment request alone, Kovrell independently verifies the person behind it using a live AI voice call. How it works: -A payment request enters a held state -Kovrell verifies the vendor's phone number -An AI voice agent calls the vendor -The vendor completes a verification challenge -Kovrell checks the responses -If verification passes, the payment can be released -The complete verification evidence is sealed for audit Every verification produces an evidence pack containing: >Call recording >Transcript >Verification checks >Tool calls >Provenance >Full event timeline >Sealed evidence hash >Downloadable JSON So instead of: "Someone approved this vendor." You get: "Here is exactly who was called, what they said, what was checked, when it happened, and the evidence proving it." Kovrell is built with @AssemblyAI powering the voice verification flow. I also built an integration API so another payment, treasury, procurement, or accounts-payable system can plug Kovrell into its existing workflow. The core idea of Kovrell is simple: Hold the payment. Call the vendor, verify the request and release only when the evidence checks out.
