OpenAI DevDay roundup: Dots always-on agents and more
A post rounds up OpenAI's DevDay releases, including the always-on background assistant Dots, GPT-6.1 Sol, the $500 Pro plan and Codex updates.

yesterday was a LOT, OpenAI dropped a whole pile of updates around DevDay here’s what stood out to me: GPT-6.1 Sol: near Astra performance for coding, computer use and professional tasks, at $2/$10 per 1M input/output tokens. Astra Ultrafast: faster token generation for demanding workflows. Pro 500: a $500/month plan with higher usage limits and faster access. Dots: always-on AI agents that can handle tasks in the background. Codex updates: cloud workflows, voice support and desktop code review. Codex Security: AI-powered code security scanning and fixes. More agent tools: computer-use capabilities and new decision-making tools. ChatGPT Work: more ways to bring AI into team workflows. and that’s still not the whole list honestly there was so much happening that it was hard to process everything at once. if you’re trying to figure out what’s actually useful to you, start with ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API docs.
