How personal assistants change product distribution
The author argues that personal agents will compare options across languages and look beyond paid placement, helping better products win, though people will still make the final decision.
Extremely well put. Distribution has long benefited from people's limited attention. Personal agents change that - they compare every option, search across languages, and look beyond paid placement. This means that the best product should win more often. But how will buyers evaluate which product they prefer? I suspect that while agents search and recommend options, people will still assess the shortlist and make the final call. For businesses to show their product is better, being discoverable is only the first step. They’ll need to give buyers a frictionless way to experience the product's value, get a feel for the brand, and see what sets it apart
