Claude account put on hold for "unusual activity" despite KYC, user says
A user asks Anthropic why their KYC-verified, personally paid Claude account was suddenly suspended for unusual activity and faces a 10-day appeal wait.

Hey @AnthropicAI, why was my Claude account suddenly put on hold for “unusual activity”? I’ve completed KYC. My subscription is paid with my own personal card matching my verified identity. I use Claude and Claude Code for legitimate everyday work. I keep seeing similar suspension stories, with some users saying they’re moving their workflows to OpenAI because of it. Is this an overly aggressive anti-abuse system? Capacity management? Or are your systems struggling to distinguish legitimate users from account farms/resold accounts? I’ve submitted an appeal, but an estimated 10-day wait is a long time when Claude Code is part of your daily workflow. Anyone else suddenly put on hold today?
