Claude's no-refund-for-bans policy blamed on relay resellers and distillers
The post says refunds were once issued for banned accounts, but relay stations reselling Claude and distillers gamed bulk account pools and refunds, so the no-refund policy now hits ordinary users.
At first, they did issue refunds, but many of the relay stations reselling Claude and the distillers exploited exactly that. They built up bulk account pools, switched to a new account the moment one got banned, and still collected refunds. They basically gamed the system in every way imaginable. No business could withstand this kind of mass reselling combined with mass "refund-only" claims. The "no refunds for banned accounts" policy was only introduced recently, and ordinary users have ended up collectively paying the price for the behavior of the relay stations and those who aggressively distill Claude.
