openai had the biggest stage imaginable to introduce their vision for persistent agents. somehow they completely fucked the dots rollout. they spent weeks building devday up like dots was going to redefine agents, the live demo fucking failed, and now barely a week later grok bot already sounds closer to what i thought dots was supposed to become. multiple sessions. as many bots as you want. opus 5.5. cloud agents using different cursor models. external APIs. openai managed to make their big reveal feel behind almost immediately.
