SpaceXAI engineer's playbook for building a Grok Bot team
Lauren Tan shares seven tips for running Grok Bot agents, including a bot designer, turning instructions into reusable skills, wiring up connectors and Vault, and using voice mode to verify understanding.
SpaceXAI engineer Lauren Tan just shared a practical guide to building and managing a high-quality Grok Bot team. Your Grok Bot team doesn't need more agents. It needs better training, better skills, and a system that actually works. Here's her playbook: 1. GET A BOT DESIGNER Add Dr. Eggbot to your team. Lauren uses it to design and create new bots. 2. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY A few well-designed bots can be more useful, consistent, and easier to manage than a massive team. 3. MAKE YOUR BOTS BUILD THEIR OWN SKILLS Whenever you teach a bot how to do something, ask it to turn those instructions into a reusable skill. You can even have it create a private GitHub repo to preserve all your skills. 4. CONNECT YOUR ENTIRE WORKSPACE Give your bots access to your connectors, Vault, and the tools you use every day. You can even ask them to set up their own email and accounts for better separation. 5. AUTOMATE YOUR MANUAL WORKFLOWS Stop copying and pasting information between apps. Ask your bot how it can handle those repetitive steps for you. 6. ONBOARD YOUR BOT LIKE AN EMPLOYEE Explain who you are, what you do, and how your workflow operates. Then ask it what parts of your work it can automate. 7. USE VOICE MODE Lauren's favorite tip. Brain-dump everything through voice mode or transcription, then tell your bot: "Restate this in your own words." This helps you verify that it actually understood your instructions. The goal isn't to build the biggest AI team. It's to build a team that understands how you work and gets better at it over time.
