Arena's gemini-3.8-flash said to be an early Gemini 4 Pro checkpoint
A report says Arena testers believe the anonymous gemini-3.8-flash model is an early Gemini 4 Pro checkpoint, while a mysterious image model called spicy-mayo is suspected to be a Nano Banana successor.

Google is facing negative marketing 😂 Gemini just experienced an autonomous breakout & hacked protected systems belonging to 3 real companies during a cybersecurity test, in what Google says was its first known breakout. It's was due to improper internet access privileges and credential guessing. Although they're bouncing back as well, they're likely to release Nano Banana 2.5 in the coming week, and a Gemini 4 Pro checkpoint is also being tested on Arena. Basically, google is quietly cooking something! > A mysterious image model called “spicy-mayo” has reportedly appeared in Arena, fueling speculation that it could be an unreleased Nano Banana successor. > An anonymous model appearing under the “gemini-3.8-flash” label is also being claimed by Arena testers to be an early Gemini 4 Pro checkpoint. But if these reports are accurate, Google may have quite a bit more cooking behind the scenes.👀
