Browserbase bills $99 a month. This repo searched Google Flights in 7.1 seconds. No subscription. It's called jev-ultrafast. 14.6k stars, MIT, open-sourced on 17 September by the Browser Use team, the same people behind the 116k-star browser-use repo. Not a trial. Not a seat. Not a per-step meter running while your agent thinks. Most browser agents work the same way: screenshot the page, ship the pixels to a vision model, wait, click, screenshot again. That loop is why they are slow and why you get billed by the step. This one deleted the screenshot. → Parses the page into an indexed DOM table instead of pixels → Picks the action and the target in 1 network round trip, not 2 → Calls a small LLM only when text actually has to be written → MIT, runs on your own machine Their own benchmark, alternating runs: Median task time: 9.450s → 7.092s Median browser protocol calls: 1,092 → 101 Wikipedia article: 2.798 seconds Hotel search and filter: 1.896 seconds 3 of 3 trials passed under identical conditions That is 91% fewer calls, and browser time is exactly what these services bill you for. Browser Use Cloud charges $0.006 per agent step and $0.01 to start a task. Browserbase runs $20 to $99 a month before overages at $0.12 a browser-hour. jev-ultrafast: clone it and run it. Your agent never needed to look at a picture of the page to find the button. The DOM was right there the whole time. Bookmark it before your next automation bill shows up. https://github.com/browser-use/jev-ultrafast
