MIT CSAIL PhD joins DeepMind, works on Gemini 4 Argon in first month
Sharut Gupta announced joining Google DeepMind's RSI team after defending his PhD and said he worked on the newly released Gemini 4 Argon in his first month.

Seems like a good time for a little life update ✨ I recently defended my PhD at @MIT_CSAIL and joined @GoogleDeepMind as a Research Scientist on the RSI team! My years at MIT were quite a ride! I got to follow my curiosity wherever it took me, work on ideas that sometimes sounded better on a whiteboard than in practice, and learn a lot along the way. Looking back, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I owe so much to my wonderful advisors @phillip_isola and @StefanieJegelka for believing in me and giving me the freedom to find my own way. I’m also grateful to my committee members Kaiming He and Tommi Jaakkola for their thoughtful feedback. And to all my mentors, collaborators, labmates and friends, thank you for making the years as fun as they were intellectually rewarding ❤️ It's also been a pretty exciting first month at DeepMind, getting to work on the newly released Gemini 4 Argon! Couldn’t have asked for a more fun start ✨ For anyone curious, here’s my PhD defense talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CW1g43R9E3s
