Users complain OpenAI Dots gives no progress feedback
A user says Dots shows no sign of activity while running a cloud task and suggests OpenAI copy Meta Muse's avatar and thread-based status display.
Dots need to do a way better job of (1) conveying what they’re working on and (2) letting me see what they’re doing if I want to. In this screenshot, my Dot is working on my news plugin in the cloud. There is no indication it’s doing anything. No “Working” beneath the avatar. No thread to click on. Nada. I’m constantly pinging my Dot to ask if it’s doing anything. OpenAI, don’t be too proud to imitate what Meta Muse does! The avatar clearly shows when it’s working, in a typing pose. An icon and text beneath the avatar shows what it’s doing. You can click on the avatar to see active threads in the right sidebar. You can click on a thread to see its progress in detail. This is the way.
