Making ChatGPT your main Dot and Dots a standalone app
The author proposes a three-step redesign: ChatGPT absorbs all Dots features to become your main Dot, a new Dots app manages multiple Dots, and Dots returns to ChatGPT's sidebar as a plugin.
I think Dots might make more sense like this: 1. ChatGPT gets all the Dots functionality. It basically becomes your Dot. Your main Dot. There is no more Chat/Work separation. There are chat monothreads and side chats, as in Muse. Work tasks get executed in background threads that you can inspect if you want to, but normally don’t need to. Basically, ChatGPT looks more like Muse. 2. A new app called Dots lets you create and manage multiple Dots. You can add your ChatGPT to this app. It becomes your primary Dot. It can work with other Dots inside the Dots app if you want it to. Basically, Dots becomes like Grok Bot. 3. The Dots app is available as a plugin within ChatGPT if you want it. It gets added to the sidebar. Then you can have Dots integrated into ChatGPT if you want it to be, but if you’re happy with one “Dot,” ChatGPT, you don’t need to do this.
